ABOUT

Thank you for taking the time for reading! Let me tell you a little bit about me...

I am María, a video editor from Galicia (Spain) living in London. I've been here for the past 7 years, and during this time I've been able to be involved in a great variety of projects.

My journey started in 2010, when I began my degree in Film, TV and Radio at the University of Navarra. Those four years were eye-opening, as I learned about storytelling and the editing craft. This is where my passion began. Later in 2015 I studied a Masters in Filmmaking at Goldsmiths, University of London. I specialised in Production, which allowed me to experience another side of film. During this year, I took on roles such as Producer, Line Producer... completely different to what I do now (I actually worked on Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson for a little bit!).

Once I was out in the real world, I decided to jump on the opportunity to become a Video Editor at a production company, because I felt that editing was my calling. That's where I've been since 2017, until February 2020, when I decided to go freelance.

I am proficient in Adobe Premiere, and I use DaVinci Resolve for colour grading. I have also basic knowledge of Avid. Back in May 2020, I completed the Media Composer Fundamentals I with Soho Editors.

What comes next? My goal is to work in Film; that is why I'm open to trainee and assistant positions. In the meantime, I am actively working on projects as a freelancer. I'm also very excited to say that I'm part of the ScreenSkills Trainee program 2022-23 as an Edit Trainee.

The bottom line is that editing is my passion - and that's what I will bring to every project I work on. If you have an opportunity for me, or a project, or would just like to chat, get in touch!
